Storm and Outage Details

Summary

Restoration work continues for customers affected by this week’s storms. Stalled storms throughout the service area have caused additional outages and delayed restoration in some areas.

Barring additional severe weather or conditions that prevent safe access, crews expect to restore service tonight to most customers.

Looking Ahead

Crews and resources are positioned to respond should additional damage occur. Currently, there are 800 Kentucky Power employees, business partners and mutual assistance personnel who will continue to work as additional storms are possible throughout the weekend.

With the ground already saturated from repeated rainfall, strong winds and additional heavy rain could bring down trees and limbs and cause new outages.

• Customers should continue to stay weather aware through the weekend and be prepared for the possibility of new outages.

• Stay away from downed power lines and never walk or drive through floodwater.
