Crews Restoring Power Following Storms

Update: 3/27/2026 12:57 PM ET

Last night’s storm brought gusts of 60 mph and higher in some parts of the state. Broken limbs and uprooted trees caused damage to our electrical equipment.

At the peak of the storm, more than 15,000 AEP Ohio customers lost power. About 2,000 AEP Ohio employees and contractors worked around the clock to restore power to affected customers and won't stop until everyone’s lights are back on.

As 12:30 p.m., about 3,600 customers are still without power, mostly in the Lima area. We estimate that power will be restored to all customers by the end of the day.

We know losing electricity is stressful and frustrating. We're grateful for our customers’ patience as our teams work as quickly as they safely can to restore power.
