Crews Responding to Outages

Update: 3/13/2026 9:31 PM ET

Severe, sustained winds with gusts of up to 70 miles per hour have caused widespread damage to electric infrastructure across Ohio, leading to more than 250,000 outages in our service territory at its peak. Our crews —  line, tree and field teams — are assessing damage and responding to outages as quickly as they safely can. The strong winds made it unsafe for crews to use bucket trucks throughout the day, but they will continue to work around the clock. Please know our crews won't stop until everyone's power is restored.

Our call center is experiencing extremely high call volumes. We apologize for the wait times and appreciate your patience with our teams on the phones. Our mobile app is also seeing high usage and delays. To avoid long delays and for updated information, please visit our outage map at outagemap.aepohio.com or follow us on Facebook.

We know it's frustrating and stressful to be without power. Please know we are doing everything we can to get the lights back on. Remember: downed lines are dangerous, and fallen tree limbs could hide live wires. Stay as far away as possible. Thank you and stay safe.
